Henri IV was born at the Chateau de Pau on 13 December of the year 1553. It is the second-son of a Protestant family, his father is named Antoine de Bourbon (descendant of Louis IX, Saint Louis, he died in 1562) and his mother Jeanne d'Albret (Queen of Navarre, Jeanne III).
